** Improve pronunciation of spoken English in order to enhance comprehensibility
** Reduce the characteristics of Spanish in spoken English

** Course Content:
• Individualized evaluation in order to determine areas of need
• Understanding and use of International Phonetic Alphabet in order to improve production of individual sounds 
• Word-level stress, components of stress and how stress affects meaning 
• 8 patterns of English sentence intonation
• Linking -- how words are connected in context 
• Nonverbal Language -- unspoken language: eye contact, proxemics, social customs
